Nashville, Tennessee – June 4, 2014 – CMA fest week is here and the activities have already started. Many fans come in a few days before the actual 4 day festival begins as they know that a lot of artists organize shows and fanclub parties earlier in the week. There are so many events planed during the CMA fest week that fans are spoiled for choice.
And while some decided to go to the Grand Ole Opry or Music City Gives Back concert on Broadway last night, others made their way to the Wildhorse Saloon for a benefit show organized by Billy Yates. The tenth annual Countriest of Country show, which was sponsored by Pinnacle Financial Partners and Franklin Motor Company, showed off Nashville’s finest traditional country music artists, hit songwriters and the worlds best Christian music artists.
Artists like Collin Raye, Larry Gatlin, Darryl Worley, Daryle Singletary, Jimmy Fortune, Buddy Jewell and Jeff Bates showed the international audience that traditional country music is still alive and kicking. And by looking at the audience seated at the many tables in the popular venue they agreed while they sang and clapped along with the music.
The country music hit songwriters that took the stage were Max T. Barnes, Jim Collins and Kenny Beard. All they needed was a guitar and a microphone to do their magic. The talent was obvious and what a blessing to be able to hear where certain songs came from and see who is behind songs like “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” and “Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly”.
Another artists that stood out was the multi Dove award winner Jason Crabb. My gosh, that man can sing! Surprise act for the night were Dailey & Vincent who came on with Jimmy Fortune to join him for two songs.
The show ended with Billy Yates inviting all artists, including his son Grayson, back on stage to join him in singing “Rocking Chair”. It was a great ending to a great event that showcased Nashville finest performers. Many fans had bought VIP tickets and were able to meet most of the nights performers straight after the show. A memory many won’t forget and one that made the event stand out from others.
